Moutohora Island is a wildlife sanctuary 9 kms. from Whakatane.
Totally rodent and pest free this Island is now home to many rare and endangered New Zealand species of plant and animal.
Your guide Phil has 25 years of experience and knowledge about the island and has been guiding tours since 1989.
This Island is especially suited to
Conservationists, Bird watchers, Schools, Historians and other interested parties who wish to have unhurried opportunities to visit study and observe.
We run a regular Tour schedule on Sunday afternoons but also run on other days and times as required by demand.
Tours will generally be 4 -5 hours duration including 60 mins of loading and boat travelling time.
Whale Moutohora island is a prestine wildlife sanctuary and we intend to keep it that way. Biosecurity is a high priority and as such all bags and persons accessing the island will be inspected to prevent the introduction of any unwanted pest.
Price includes landing fee and concession costs.
