Dolphin, Whale and seal watching
During the New Zealand Summer from November to May, 1000s 0f Dolphins, many Whales and other marine mammals and Pelagic fish visit our part of the Pacific ocean to join the already abundant marine life surrounding the geothermally warmed seafloor near the White Island volcano. Nearby Moutohora (Whale Island) a wild life sanctuary is home to a small friendly breeding colony of native New Zealand fur seals called Kekeno who live there year round.
3-4 hour tours to watch or swim with the dolphins and seals operate twice daily usually between 0800 - 1200 or 1300 - 1700 hours, weather and passenger numbers permitting.
